Here's a picture from last year's crank up day:
![]() These are DB 900s. They replaced the 25/30 series of the early-mid 1950s, and were an attempt by DB to modernise the range. The french blue wheels and grille are the biggest differance between the 900 and later 950/990, underneath the new sheetmetal however, the early 900 was largly unchanged from the 30c and 30D. Later 900s had live PTO and hydraulics which DB called 'Livedrive'. The DB alas was not a success for DB, the new rotary fuel pump on the Diesel gave quite a bit of trouble, and the reputation of the 900 suffered as a result. The later 950/990 series however were a bit hit!. The 900 was only in production for 2 years (1956 - 1958), and is a bit of an 'orphan' in DB history, as a result they are a little more scarce compared the earlier 25/30 and the later 950/990 series. Here is a scan of the brochure for an early 900:

I believe DB exported a number of those to the US and Oliver corp re-badged them as the 500 and 600 Olivers repainted with the Clover white/Meadow green color scheme.

Hi Fshook, the rebadged olivers were the later DB 850 and 950.
900s and the earlier 25/30 series were imported into the US in very small numbers, with just about all of them ending up in California. I do'nt know if any survive. I have really abandoned the medtal-stiching of hte cracked blok on my 900 project as Dad and I discovered yet more cracks inside the block. We have sat that block aside and used a spare block we had instead, the project continues!!
